The city view from our budget double room was great, making mornings special. It was cozy to relax after exploring the area all day. Glad we could stay nearby, too. 🏙️

none
The building feels insecure with a layer of filth everywhere!!! The communal areas are too dirty for photos and the rooms reek of a disturbing odor. Maintenance of basic cleanliness is essential!!!

During my stay, I was really looking forward to visiting the Southend Central Museum and Planetarium, which is conveniently close. Unfortunately, the accommodations left a lot to be desired. The room had several cleanliness issues, with debris under the bed and a surprising lack of basic amenities like toilet paper. The lock on the door was even propped up with cardboard. Despite these issues, the location was quite central, allowing easy access to local attractions like Beecroft Art Gallery and The Royals Shopping Centre, which is a plus.

Staying at Haven House had its gems, especially the sheer joy of exploring Southend's culinary options. Udom Thai Restaurant had mouthwatering dishes, while Tomassi's served up delightful ice cream that was the perfect treat on a sunny day. Along with that, the city view from the room truly brightened our mornings!
My partner was flabbergasted by the state of it all! The room we had, not only smelled awful but the bed linen and towels were filthy. The toilet was like a puzzle to close, and the entire place felt like it was living in a slum. Still, I guess every cloud has a silver lining, right?

The room conditions were unacceptable, with dirty sheets featuring hairs and stains, including what looked like blood. The carpet was ripped, and the shower was filthy with hair and stains. Despite having some home-made bread during breakfast, the overall hygiene and upkeep of the property overshadowed any goodwill.

great views, but lacking cleanliness
The city view from the room was stunning, making mornings feel special. The garden view during breakfast added a peaceful ambiance. The staff were polite and accommodating, which made interactions pleasant.
Cleanliness left much to be desired.
